Florida Students Not Backing Off Push for Gun Regulations

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP)
— Under pressure to
tighten gun laws after
a deadly mass shooting
at a Florida high school,
state and national leaders
responded with varied
proposals Thursday.
President Donald Trump
endorsed certain forms of
gun control amid the public
outcry, saying “there’s
nothing more important
than protecting our
children.” And Republican
leaders in Florida indicated
they’d be open to some
changes after students
rallied at the state Capitol.
U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of
Florida said a visit to Majory
Stoneman Douglas High
School, where the Feb.
14 shooting occurred,
