THE 9-TO-5 BLUES
I used to work as a suit by day, play guitar at night—weekend gigs, a sweet cruise— but last month I got my walking papers, so now I’m singing the 9-to-5 blues.
Lots of folks smacked by recession, pink slips flying and no one’s immune, even you with your corner office
might be pounding the pavement soon.
I’ve been chewing through dot-com ads, making calls, networking like a champ, sending emails, getting LinkedIn,
revving my mojo back up the career ramp.
I’m old school, but I’ve got what it takes, Lord knows, I’ve been around the block, just need to get my foot in the door because I’ve sure learned how to knock.
