Operations Update. by Josh Loeffen
Wantedtobrieflydiscussandaddressthecurrentfreightmarket. Iknowthereisalotoftalkoutthereaboutthingsslowing down and there being less freight than last year. This may be accurate for other sectors like Dry Van and reefer. We are fortu- nate that the bulk sector, primarily pet food has remained strong. We are fortunate to have steady reliable customers that we work with and have remained loyal to us over the years as we have remained loyal to them. We owe a ton of this loyalty to our amazing group of drivers. You are the face of Foltz trucking that these customers see and interact with daily, Thank you.
Looking at Jan 1 until Mid-May from ’22 to ’23 for comparison. Total mileage for all orders is within 1.5% (13.7 million miles ’22 vs 13.5 mil in ’23). The total average for all miles remained steady with a slight increase for ’23 up .03 cents per mile across the fleet.

McLeod imaging – Please be sure to image ALL of the documents withcorrespondingload. Also, whenaskedtounloadatrailerthat wasn’t yours, be sure to image that dump paperwork in with your load as well.
Owner Operators, please wait to call regarding changes, questions, inquires and requests for settlements until Wednesday afternoon. We try to start payroll Tuesday afternoons, but sometimes get held up. Calls Wednesday morning hinder the progress of everyone’s settlement. Our system automatically emails settlements out to Owner Operators when we post. Shop bills/repair invoices do not get sent automatically with your settlement. Please be patient and we will get those shop repairs emailed out as soon as possible. Just remember, you have until
Thursday mid – morning to ask questions and make changes to your settlement before they are posted.
Shop Update. by Zach Foltz.
Hello Drivers!—Due to insurance, work force safety, and a few close calls, we must ask ALL DRIVERS to stay out
of the shop while your equipment is being worked on. Effectively immediately! We have softly hinted at this inthepast, butwearenowmakingthismandatory. It pains us to ask, as we pride ourselves on being a friendly welcomingenvironment. However, thisdemandis being made with everyone’s safety in mind. We under- stand that on occasion you will need to pass through, but please limit your time to as little as possible.
Please prepare to be asked to wait in the driver’s lounge, or to go grab some food if you have been in the habit
of lingering around the shop. This policy needs to be adheredtobyunauthorizedpersonnel. Remember, nobody plans to get hurt or injured during the workday, but accidents happen. We must do our part to reduce that possibility.
Thank you for your understanding.
