Heaven
We were told
We see God there
And God up there in Heaven Takes a hand bigger than a cloud And wipes away all our hard won tears From our small upturned faces
And keeps us safe inside the pearly gates
And some part of us
Believed that heaven is a place
And a part of us left and keeps leaving The Now...
For a hoped for “then”...
Our coin of hope
Invested not on devotion’s treasures of joy, here Our coin of hope
Spent on focus on a future solace, there
