MEDICAL EDUCATION JOURNALS REVIEWED

Through Medical Education Research Consultations, we have assist-
ed in the direction of many projects since the BEI Knowledge Center opened. Dr. Ed Krupat holds twice-monthly half-day sessions for Brigham & Womens faculty and residents, to obtain personal consultation and advice about the development of specific educational research projects, both quantitative and qualitative. Those desiring assistance have the option of making appointments or just dropping in.
Assistance is provided for research design and conceptualiza-tion, de- velopment of survey instruments, or preparing IRB applications. As proj- ects develop, assistance in data analysis and interpretation as well as re- search report writing is offered. Need some help, reach out to Ed or Erik!
Part of our BEI programming includes a monthly medical education based Journal Club offered both in our Knowledge Center or specific to clinical departments. These meetings provide a forum for learning how to critically review a medical education publication, while also discussing how the literature can be translated to our teaching.
MENTOR CORNER
The BEI Mentor Corner was the brain child of our Educational Leadership Committee Trainee Working Group and was envisioned as a contact list for BWH trainees seeking faculty with expertise and/or careers in medical education. Mentor Corner is a very intuitive/user-friendly site that went live in July, 2018. Now trainees can contact faculty to set up a one-time meeting to discuss an area of expertise, discuss a career path, or arrange for discussion with a trainee group.
