Why Join ARCS?
Women-Founded & Led
ARCS Foundation Inc. is a national
network of fifteen independent
organizations founded by women
in 1958. ARCS Foundation Oregon,
an affiliate of this network, offers
a vibrant community of dynamic
and accomplished women who are
passionate about supporting the
next generation of scientists. ARCS
members gain access to a growing
statewide network of leaders from a
variety of sectors––higher education,
government, health care, research,
financial services, nonprofit––who
share a common goal of supporting
STEM education in Oregon.

professional and personal networks.
ARCS members come from all
walks of life. They are Community
Leaders, Scientists, Philanthropists,
Retirees, Corporate and University
Executives, Engineers, and Business
Owners. They enjoy sharing their
experiences and mentoring the
next generation of women leaders.
Many members engage with ARCS
through committee or board service,
which provides opportunities
to develop, hone, and use their
time and talent to advance the
organization’s mission.
As a scientist,
I have trained
many graduate
students over the
years. When I was
introduced to ARCS
and discovered its
dedication to supporting graduate
education in STEM, I had to join in.
It was a way of paying back and
honoring the importance of these
exceptional students.
