the rst of the tours over the precise route of 1923, after a second tour further east of the department, a third tour having offered an East-West crossing of Mont Ventoux, a fourth tour climbing high up to L'Enclave des Papes and a fth tour having "The Vinyard trail" as a theme, starting and nishing at the Domaine de Marie (Ménerbes), at the end of October 2020 the sixth tour will extend over three days, open as widely as possible to cyclists on vintage bikes (mainly from the 50s and 70s), with several routes offered in the heart of the Luberon and organized over a long weekend, centring around local stories, avours and know-how.
The xed gear or "Les Forçats de la route" style bike described by Albert Londres, old and contemporary road bikes and also "Gravel" bikes, named after this new sport on gravel from the United States and having alternate roads and tracks: Chilkoot is interested in all cycling practices. And so you can discover, cycle, experience and share a Chilkoot adventure, event, or trip over one day, a weekend or a week. You also discover your own self there, through the intensity of the routes and formats, sometimes, too, through the weather conditions, and you meet people there, you make strong friendships.
Come and vibrate on the PAVES of the pioneers, connect Antibes to Grenoble with LA NAPOLÉON in the wake of the “Vol de l'Aigle”, wear a Scottish kilt to jump from Puy in LA STEVENSON to Alès, come together over 200 kilometres, departing from eight cities to have a beer together in Lyon at the end of the CONFLUENCES with "the six companions of the Croix-Rousse", climb and negotiate the passes, visiting one by one the places of remembrance of the companions of the liberation of Provence and paying them homage, on the edge of the Grandes Alpes with LA PIERRE NAVARD, take a “high road” of gravel and cross from valley to valley with the CUNEO MONACO CLASSICO or even with LA QUEST from Briançon to Chamonix... Chilkoot events are so many proposals, invitations, to get moving, to come together and surpass yourself in the saddle of a bicycle.
With Chilkoot, each outing, each event is thoroughly prepared like an expedition. Pleasure comes before even hitting the road or the tracks, in maps, books, lms, in choosing your equipment, in preparing your bike, always with the joyous perspective, straight ahead of you, of the adventure and "gained horizons" ....
édition ayant eu pour thématique « Les Chemins de vignes » au départ et à l’arrivée du Domaine de Marie (Ménerbes), la sixième édition sera étendue n octobre 2020 sur trois jours, ouverte le plus largement possible aux cyclistes sur vélos vintage (principalement des années 50-70), avec plusieurs itinéraires proposés au cœur du Luberon et orchestrés le temps d’un long week-end autour des histoires, des saveurs et des savoir-faire locaux.
Pignon xe ou le vélo façon « Les Forçats de la route » décrits par Albert Londres, vélos de route anciens et contemporains mais aussi vélos « Gravel », du nom de cette nouvelle pratique (le gravier) venue des États-Unis et permettant d’alterner routes et pistes ; toutes les pratiques cyclistes intéressent Chilkoot. C’est donc à la journée, le temps d’un week-end ou d’une semaine que se découvre, se roule, se vit et se partage un événement, un voyage, une aventure Chilkoot. On s’y découvre aussi, par l’intensité des itinéraires et des formats, parfois aussi par celle des conditions météorologiques et l’on y fait des rencontres, on y noue de fortes amitiés.

Les événements Chilkoot sont autant de propositions, d’invitations, à se mettre en mouvement, à se rencontrer et à se dépasser au guidon d’un vélo.
Avec Chilkoot, chaque sortie, chaque événement se prépare minutieusement comme une expédition. Le plaisir naît avant même de prendre la route ou les pistes, dans les cartes, les livres, les lms, dans la sélection de son matériel, dans la préparation de son vélo, avec la perspective joyeuse, toujours, droit devant soi, de l’aventure et des « horizons gagnés »...
