LES BALLONS
UN PERSONNAGE DEBOUT AU CENTRE D’UN CIRCUIT MINIATURE TIENT UNE GERBE DE BALLONS.
Parmi eux, trois visages familiers de Mickey viennent inter- roger notre rapport à l’enfance, à l’icône, à la mémoire collective.
C’est la première et seule fois que Mickey entre dans mon univers — et ce n’est pas un hasard. Ce tableau parle de projection : on n’aime pas mes personnages parce qu’ils sont des animaux, on les aime parce qu’ils incarnent un monde.
Comme on aime Mickey sans aimer les souris, on aime ici une ambiance, une émotion, une porte ouverte sur un ailleurs réconfortant et fantastique.
La locomotive en contrebas, elle aussi, rappelle le voyage. Mais c’est bien l’imaginaire qui est en marche.

A CHARACTER STANDS IN THE CENTER OF A MINIATURE CIRCUIT, HOLDING A BUNDLE OF BALLOONS.
Among them, three familiar Mickey faces invite us to reflect on our relationship with childhood, with the icon, and with the collective memory.
This is the first and only time Mickey enters my universe— and it’s not by chance. This painting speaks of projection: we don’t love my characters because they are animals, we love them because they embody a world.
Just as we love Mickey without loving mice, here we love an atmosphere, an emotion, a doorway to a comforting and fantastic elsewhere.
The train, positioned below, also evokes travel. But it is the imagination that is in motion.
