FAUX REBELLES, VRAIS TENDRES.
On pourrait croire, en voyant cette scène, qu’on a affaire à un trio de jeunes délinquants. Un tag sur la voiture, un graffiti par terre, des poses nonchalantes... Et pourtant, tout en eux respire la tendresse, l’innocence, et même une forme de fragilité.
Paschat, appuyé avec désinvolture sur sa voiture graffée, observe calmement. Petit Paschat, à gauche, bombe à la main, semble pris en flagrant délit. Quant à l’Ourson, à droite, en train de grimper maladroitement sur le capot, il finit de casser toute tension. Ils ne sont pas à craindre, ils sont à aimer.
Ce tableau est une relecture du mythe du gang, version douce. Comme tu le dis si bien, ce sont des “loubards” qu’on a envie de prendre dans ses bras. Une œuvre qui déconstruit les clichés, qui parle de groupe, d’amitié, de jeu, dans une esthétique ultra soignée, où les matières et textures donnent à chaque per- sonnage une vraie densité visuelle.
C’est également une œuvre qui flirte avec la culture hip- hop, les jeux de rôle et les codes du streetwear. Encore une fois, la voiture rétro est un symbole fort : entre mouvement et an- crage, entre modernité et nostalgie.
THE GENTLE HOOLIGANS
FAKE REBELS, TRUE SOFTIES.
At first glance, this scene might look like a trio of young delinquents. A tagged car, graffiti on the ground, casual postures... and yet, everything about them radiates tenderness, innocence— even a certain fragility.
Paschat, leaning nonchalantly against his graffitied car, watches calmly. Little Paschat, on the left, spray can in hand, looks caught red-handed. And the Bear, awkwardly climbing onto the hood on the right, diffuses any remaining tension. They’re not to be feared — they’re to be loved.
This piece is a soft reinterpretation of the gang myth. As you so aptly put it, they’re the kind of “bad boys” you want to hug. It’s a work that deconstructs clichés, speaking of group dyna- mics, friendship, and play—rendered with a highly polished aesthe- tic, where the materials and textures give each character real visual depth.
It’s also a piece that flirts with hip-hop culture, role- playing, and streetwear codes. Once again, the retro car stands as a powerful symbol—somewhere between motion and stillness, modernity and nostalgia.
