Why Am I So Itchy?

Pruritus is a common complaint of patients seen by allergists. Chronic itch is frequently difficult to treat. This session offers a comprehensive overview of the neural mechanics of itch. Systemic and cutaneous manifestation of itch along with the latest approaches to diagnosis, classification, and treatment of patients with various degrees of pruritus will be discussed.

Epinephrine Uncertainty

Epinephrine is the first line treatment for anaphylaxis. However, there continues to be confusion on when to administer epinephrine and concerns regarding the use of epinephrine. This session will highlight what constitutes anaphylaxis and when to administer epinephrine, novel delivery routes of epinephrine, and if patients need to be monitored in a healthcare setting after epinephrine use.
