Biologics for Asthma: Wicked
Good Choices
Moderators: Kathleen R. May, MD, FACAAI; and William E. Berger, MD, MBA, FACAAI
Over the past 10 years, the number of FDA-approved biologics for moderate to severe asthma has skyrocketed. Despite the options, it remains a challenge to predict which biologic is most effective for each individual patient. In addition, decisions about whether and when to continue
or switch biologics are typically made case by case in
the absence of clear recommendations. This session will address some of these unmet needs, including using biomarkers and endotypes to determine the best initial biologic for each patient, when to continue versus when to switch biologics, and advanced diagnostic tools to make these and other treatment decisions more evidence based.
