Update
Using feedback from the learners involved in the Advance First Line Leaders Programme and working in partnership with Square Box Training Consultancy we have enhanced the programme content for our next 25 learners. It’s set to be another busy year of practical and engaging learning!
SHS Strategic Leadership Programme
In line with our V21 Strategy, HR People Plans and our intention ‘driving the best capability to enable growth’, we launched two new Senior Leadership Programmes in September.
High Performing Teams Update
To explore our theme of High Performing Teams, various activities have been taking place across the Group.
STRATEGIC
High Performing Teams workshops were available on the Learning Framework for 2019 under ‘Leadership Essentials’ which considered what a High Performing Team looks like and what steps Managers can take to develop such a team. Feedback on this has been positive, but it’s only the start of the journey.
Senior Leadership Teams
Senior teams from across the Group have been involved in various learning interventions to explore and understand the concept and creation of High Performing Teams, starting with the Team’s Purpose and their functional Vision.
High Performing Teams 2020
The theme will continue into 2020 with the 2020 Learning & Development Calendar featuring a range of workshops to help develop the right thinking, skills and behaviours to create high performing teams across the Group.
REVIEW
Refresher Training
My Review is the SHS Performance & Development Review process designed to facilitate meaningful conversations between you and your Manager regarding your performance throughout the year.
In preparation for the My Review process in January 2020, refresher training has taken place across all sites. These short sessions were ideal for new colleagues or those wanting a refresh on the process.
Leadership Programme
Strategic Leaders is a bespoke, comprehensive development programme designed to upskill our senior leaders and better equip them to meet the future challenges of the organisation. The programme is delivered by external experts and supported by Executive Coaching. Each of our divisions is represented on this pilot programme.

LEADERSHIP ESSENTIALS
ILM Level 7
Certificate in Leadership & Management
Members of the Corporate Services Executive Team, in partnership with Belfast Metropolitan College Business School, are completing an ILM (Institute of Leadership &
Management) Level 7 Certificate in Leadership & Management.
This post-grad qualification is designed to develop Senior Teams in the areas of strategic thinking and application. Participants have the opportunity to work on a strategic business challenge through research and dialogue to propose solutions to our senior leadership team. Good luck to all as they begin researching their chosen topic!
