similar to an overdrive. Brass synchro rings in the gearbox were replaced by carbon fiber units.
The steering rate was slowed by seven percent, while the suspension and handling settings were modified to reduce oversteer. A front strut brace was fitted, front spring rates and shock absorbers were stiffened and the rear softened and the suspension modified to reduce toe-in under extreme Gs. Wheels were increased to 17 inches and tires became 215/45-17 and 245/40-17 RE-050s. Weight rose slightly to 2,835, thanks to the bigger wheels and tires.
Cosmetic changes included new front and rear bumpers, new headlights and new LED taillights. A new red paint was introduced in 2005, coupled with a black interior. Improvements for 2006 included drive-by wire throttle and electronic stability control system, a new wheel design and the addition of Laguna Blue Pearl exterior paint. Headrest speakers were added to new seats, cup holders finally arrived and reshaped door panels were introduced to increase elbow room.
