A HUB FOR AUTO ENTHUSIASTS
For more than 60 years, Hemmings has been a central hub for automotive enthusiasts, offering the broadest vintage and specialty car market in the world, along with entertaining and informative content through Hemmings.com as well as multiple monthly print publications. For fans of collector cars, Hemmings is a one-stop source for vehicles, parts, services, and information.
It began in 1954, when Hemmings Motor News was founded by Ernest Hemmings in Quincy, Illinois. What launched as a four- page mimeographed newsletter for Ford Model A and Model T enthusiasts grew rapidly, and by the 1970s, Hemmings Motor News was considered a must-have monthly magazine by car enthusiasts coast to coast, and even in other countries. There was no better source for locating rare and valuable vehicles for sale, and no other single resource offered more listings for parts – both new and used – as well as restoration services.
That tradition continues today, and while Hemmings Motor News is still printed every month, Hemmings.com is live 24/7, continuing to provide access to collector car listings along with contacts for the parts, services, and specialists vital to the vintage car world. More recently, Hemmings has taken another stride in evolving its offerings by launching Hemmings Auctions, a live online auto auction site tailored for collector car buyers and sellers.
But Hemmings isn’t just dedicated to helping enthusiasts in buying, selling, and restoring collector cars. It also reaches car people with detailed, expertly produced content, informing and entertaining through varied forms of media, both traditional and digital.
Hemmings Motor News
The flagship print publication, Hemmings Motor News, has had an editorial magazine section since 2005, geared towards all facets of the automotive enthusiast realm. Readers rely on its informative insights on the collector car market and value trends, conveyed through auction reporting,
analyses of popular makes and models, and detailed buyer’s guides. Additionally, HMN regularly provides technical features on automotive restoration, and coverage of automotive events.
Hemmings Muscle Machines
Since 2003, Hemmings has published Hemmings Muscle Machines, a premium monthly magazine dedicated to American performance cars. It features in-depth profiles and road tests on the hottest models from the late 1950s through the golden age of factory supercars and up into the modern era.
Highlighted vehicles range from restored rarities to custom-built upgraded restomod machines, with technical articles detailing procedures of restoration and enhanced performance. Muscle cars were built for competition, and today’s enthusiasts continue to put their machines to the test in drag racing, autocross, and road racing – and HMM is there when they do. For the active collector, HMM provides current market data with auction reporting and buyer’s guides.
Hemmings Classic Car
In the fall of 2004, Hemmings debuted another new monthly publication, Hemmings Classic Car, which was built on the heritage of our Special Interest Autos magazine. With in-depth automobile profiles, exposés on automotive design, engineering, and styling, and profiles on specialists and
shops serving the collector-car hobby. HCC also celebrates the vintage car lifestyle with coverage of events, market trends, and technical advice to help enthusiasts enjoy their classics on the road today.
