P. 29

This project was created for a class geared towards the development of schematic and design drawing packages for a new attraction. Students worked as a design team of two to compile these packages and worked them through the conceptual, schematic and design drawing phases that would simulate a real world project.
We began with developing a conceptual pack for the attraction to pitch to our ‘client’, which included a full narrative of the guest experience, storyboards to illustrate key scenes, and a preliminary track and scene layout. From there we compiled a scope document and deliverables list of every aspect of the attraction to guide us in the creation of our schematic drawing package.
With our professor’s guidance and regular check-in presentations on the progress of the project we continued to improve the package as you would in a real world project. For teaching purposes, students did not have budgets but were given guidance as to what was feasible and what was not when developing a new attraction.
