Kristen Nicolais kristennicolais.com I am a visual storyteller who approaches design like a puzzle, finding how the pieces interlock to create fun experiences for the guests. Utilizing tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Photoshop, as well as drawing upon my skills and experience as an interior designer, I work to connect the pieces in logical but unexpected ways to create unique and appealing spaces. My innate curiosity and willingness to learn allows me to easily shift roles within a project and I am often approached by others in the workplace as a resource for how to accomplish tasks. A sense of discovery and wonder should be evoked through design, by encouraging people to interact with the space in a fresh way. Most importantly design should make the end users and clients happy. Whether it is a place that people go specifically to relax and have fun, their place of work, or their home it should be a space they can enjoy and bring a smile to their face.
Maria Primera Darwich givingitlife.com Creating a feeling. This is something I have been fascinated by ever since I was a little girl. The feeling of a moment, the feeling of a space, the feeling of being surrounded by the company of other humans. I started asking myself in which moments I felt most alive. The answer always was whenever I have been part of a carefully crafted experience, one full of life. The interesting aspect of an experience is that different activities will trigger a variety of emotions for all types of people. It is this constant endeavor of attempting to understand humans, our emotions and way of making sense of a moment that has cultivated my love for experiential design. I feel very passionate about the creative process it takes to understand a topic, a theme or a story, and then translate it into a physical environment. I design experiences with a strong personal and multi-sensory factor. Many times, you can find me with a stack of books, searching to find information that will help connect the dots in a different manner than normal. My research and consequential concept design can entice humans to explore, to get to know themselves, and to interact with friends they have yet to meet. Ultimately, my intention is to breathe life into memorable experiences and make you feel alive.
