On Thursday afternoon, the Historic Festival traditionally kicks off with a 17- mile parade that starts on the Lime Rock straight and courses its way through the nearby towns of Lakeville and Salisbury. Both street and competition cars are invited, with the latter generating frequent “thumbs ups” as they noisily pass the fans that line the entire route.
Among the parade’s highlights is the loop through the Noble Horizons senior living community, where many residents turn out to enthusiastically support participants as they circulate through the facility’s forecourt.
The parade concludes not far from the track in Falls Village, where a festive reception awaits. With the Falls Village Inn acting as informal headquarters, parade cars fill the nearby streets as drivers and fans gather to enjoy food, drink, music and the shared enthusiasm of cool cars.
