Success During COVID
During the first wave of the Pandemic, so many services stopped operating as there was so much fear and uncertainty around COVID-19 and how it was transmitted. A number of our Chinatown Stewards continued to show up for work every day, doing what they always do and being an extra set of eyes for businesses, providing further outreach for those experiencing challenges. Many felt it was important that they be there for the community. After months of continuing to work through the frightening first wave, one of the Stewards told us that being able to continue to work, really grounded him and allowed him to maintain some normalcy in his life when he most needed it. Due to the work he was still in a good, stable place regardless of how the Pandemic had changed life for everyone
