09 BARENTS SEA & NORTH CAPE
Today we travel through the Finnmark region and see fishing villages both old and active. We go ashore to the island of Magerøya and visit the North Cape Pavilion where we watch a 125° panorama film revealing the North Cape’s beautiful and spectacular landscape through the four seasons. We also learn about the remarkable indigenous Sami people who have survived in the Finnmark region for thousands of years. (B,L,D) Included excursion: North Cape and the Sami People
10 KIRKENES
Our ship arrives in Kirkenes. Here we are fur- ther north than any part of mainland Canada!
Enjoy some free time to explore this remote northern community. We depart Kirkenes to begin our southbound voyage, visiting the ports in daylight that we previously called on during the night. This afternoon, we stop in Vardø, and during your free time here, you may wish to walk to the Vardøhus Fortress or the Pomor Museum.
