1. WHATSIZE,PUMPORDEREDGESHOULDBEUSEDTOFILL STRUCTURAL ENVIROTUBES®?
8” pumps & dredges are most common — normal fifill rate is 1.5 CY per min or about 100 CY per pumping hour. Too small of a pump is sometimes diffifficult to get proper elevation or height. Too large of a pump and too much fifill material is carried through the Envirotube® and out the end port.
2. HOWWOULDIFILLANENVIROTUBE®WITHALARGER PUMP?
A 12”pipeline can be split into 2 8”pipelines and fifill 2 Envirotubes® at once. The flflow will divide evenly because of pipe friction.
3. CANISTOPPUMPINGWHENPARTIALYFILLEDANDRETURN LATER TO COMPLETE?
When fifilling with sand it is best to fifill non-stop. When fifilling with soft material the Envirotube® normally has to be pumped multiple times; therefore, not an issue.
4. WILLIHAVETOFILLFORMORETHANONEPORT?
Usually not. Only if the heavy material will not carry all the way to the end of the Envirotube®.
