Dear Colleagues,
I’d like to thank everyone who completed this year’s employee engagement survey. After last year’s survey, it was great to see different teams from around the Group come together to act on the feedback and drive improvements. Tangible changes, such as the launch of the new company-wide intranet or the introduction of the ‘Your Tomorrow’ benefits package, have been welcomed by many across the business. Of course, there is more to do
– including in the aforementioned areas.
I’m delighted to see that the work off last year’s survey is being recognised in this year’s results. Overall, the survey is showing significant improvements, particularly when it comes to supporting our colleagues’ individual needs and our general work environment. Wellbeing and diversity scores have shot up and our overall ‘engagement score’ has increased from 64% to 71%. Most other areas in the business have shown improvements.
While celebrating these strong results, I’m also fully aware that there is more work to be done, and two key areas stand out. First, communication across the business, particularly between different teams, needs to become a focus for improvement in the next 12 months. I need everyone’s help, ideas, and suggestions in how we can do this – and a group, bringing people together from various teams and departments, is already at work creating more resources for us all to use. Secondly, our managers are telling us that they need better tools and more empowerment to be able to support their teams effectively. These areas will be a key priority for the months to come – and we will also be picking up on other areas and feedback too.
Please take the time to review these results and discuss them with your teams. I am always keen to hear from you with any recommendations and opportunities on how we can grow and evolve as an organisation.
