Activities At HeAdington
An education at Headington is far broader than that offered by the curriculum alone. We provide a co-curricular programme that represents a substantial part of the education experience at Headington. Girls can choose from a wide range of activities that take place beyond the academic curriculum - and usually outside the classroom.
With more than 120 clubs and activities to choose from, there really is something for everyone. All activities are voluntary to enable girls to try new things and pursue those activities that are of interest to them. Girls who take advantage of the opportunities available learn to balance their academic and extra-curricular commitments in an organised and sensible way. Participation is always encouraged as involvement in activities is an essential part of the learning experience. Not only does it give girls the opportunity to develop skills in activities that they enjoy, by taking part they experience the challenges and successes that help prepare them for life after school.
Many actitivites are ‘drop-in’, but for some (including those that incur a charge, marked with this symbol U ) girls will sign up via CHQ and where a charge is due parents will confirm they are content once the sign-up window is closed. Speech and Drama, Music lessons and individual Ballet lessons can be arranged by contacting the Performing Arts Administrator (mash@headington.org) and Tennis is arranged by contacting our LTA professional (jbaker@headington.org).
For an up-to-date timetable, parents and girls should refer to the relevant pages of the Almanac website.
