FAQS
* We asked Issy, one of our L6 prefects, to give you her answers!
What if I want to drop or change a subject?
You are welcome to start with four A Level subjects if you wish, particularly if you
are uncertain of the best combination for you As your first year of Sixth Form study progresses you may decide to focus on only three of those four and therefore drop one We will be able to help and guide you in making that decision *The Sixth Form team is very accommodating for those who want to drop or change a subject and will work their hardest to make sure it can fit with your timetable
How am I set homework?
Homework is set via Google Classroom or the Show My Homework app which provides full instructions, access to any relevant resources and information on deadlines and
how to submit your work *Sixth Form students are typically more trusted with their homework and independent study, therefore teachers may set extra work to further your knowledge which is not usually placed on Google Classroom or Show My Homework There’s a much greater move towards and focus on independent study and this will be introduced and encouraged by subject teachers as they prepare you for life after Sixth Form
How do I complete my school work?
You’ll need to bring your own device which you will use in lessons and also in study periods to complete their schoolwork These devices will be connected to the School wifi to make things easier
*How will you help me go from GCSE level to A Level studies?
There is a jump from GCSE to A Levels but you shouldn’t be alarmed about moving to
a new school whilst experiencing this jump, as there are so many other students who
will be experiencing the same thing at the same time The pastoral support is great which means that if you are struggling to settle in or cope with the jump, you’ll have someone to discuss your challenges with Lots of girls take advantage of this opportunity, especially in the early Autumn Term, so please remember that there is a welcoming safe space for you
Is there a Sixth Form PSHE programme and what does it include?
