THE HEADINGTONIAN 2017
SCHOOL FEATURE
DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
The last year has seen continued success in reaching out to, and engaging with, our wider School community.
I am especially pleased with the progress made by the Headington Association in bringing together our community of current and former parents, staff, and alumnae. The Former Staff Dinner, in particular, was a great success with plenty of familiar faces coming back to Headington, including many much- loved teachers. Jane Currie’s appointment as Honorary President of the Headington Association has been a major boost. Jane’s energy and creativity is already bearing fruit as we plan our Association programme for 2017 to 2018.
TIM EDGE
DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT
In June, we reach the halfway point in the School’s Centenary Fundraising Campaign. If you would like to show your support, you still have time to get involved in a variety of ways. Development Officer, Charlotte Banks, will be launching our new regular giving programme to the Headington community soon.
The refurbishment of our Hall is an important and urgent project for which we are seeking support, particularly from our alumnae. The Hall has been the focal point of Headington since it was first built almost a century ago but is now in need of urgent and sensitive restoration. We hope that the need for restoration will resonate with our entire Headington community but in particular, we hope that our alumnae will fondly remember their time spent in the Hall during assemblies, house plays, concerts, and events. The plans
include resurfacing the Hall floor, replacing the windows and curtains, installing an efficient modern heating system, and enhancing the audio-visual presentation equipment for assemblies and events. We are hugely grateful for the support received to date and future gifts of any amount towards the target of £150,000 would be very much appreciated. To find out more, please watch our Hall restoration video: http://www.headington.org/hall or email me at tedge@headington.org
To make sure that we can continue to send you the Headingtonian, upcoming changes to data regulations require us to verify that you have given your explicit consent by 25th May 2018 to receive communications and news from Headington School. In order to give your consent please complete and return the form enclosed.
