instances, the thought process (vithicitta) that works—we will clearly experience the nature of the mind. In reality, does the mind experience all the natural conditions at the same time, or at different instances? Our thought process during each instance: This is the key for us to experience.
The thought process here: We see that a mind that experiences here ceases rst; then a mind here experiences at this place already ceased, before emerging again to experience anew. The new mind that emerges to experience, how is it different from here? The new mind that emerges to experience the new natural condition, how is it different? Clearer than before; stiller than before; more alert than before; quicker than before? And, observe whether it ceases more completely than before or not. This here is the factor that makes our mindfulness become more powerful. If we just experience that it (the mind) moves back and forth, that will make our mindfulness less powerful than if we experience that it ceases at each instance. This means that when relating natural conditions, we just feel that it moves back and forth.
When practitioners relate (natural conditions), you will say: It moves, it moves, then—waap—it disappears completely. There will be words that indicate that what you relate as moving back and forth and the natural condition that emerges—sometimes they are not the same—by the natural condition, they are different.
