is sweet, then it fades, ceases. It is delicious, then fades, then ceases. As we continue to eat, we only experience the phenomenon ceases, fades, ceases, fades, ceases... there is no more taste left. We no longer feel any joy in that taste. So, we feel full. We can no longer eat because our mind is already ful lled. The mind is ful lled, so we stop. This is one thing.
Some people—having seen these natural conditions— feel ful lled. But, after they go out for awhile, they start to feel hungry. Here, we need to contemplate both things. Sometimes, practitioners say that: Just seeing (natural conditions), they already feel full. But, when they walk out, they feel hungry. When they go and meditate, they just sit quietly—sit quietly like having no energy. Sit quietly without any energy is also not good. Observe: When we sit quietly without any energy—mostly is when we sit and rest. Various natural conditions will be unclear. But, our state of mind will be clear; our state of mind is serene—but we lack alertness. The phenomenon of the Three Characteristics of Beings (trilaksana) will be unclear; the emergence- cessation phenomenon will be unclear.
But, when our mind is powerful and our corporeality (rupa) is powerful—when the emergence-cessation phenomenon appears, we can wilfully contemplate these natural conditions well. We will be able to practice dhamma well. Here, Than Mae Kru (The Mother Teacher) used to
