extinguished. We must truly and clearly experience, to be certain in the phenomena—that they are as they are.
Therefore, if we cannot fabricate according to our wishes, if we cannot make (phenomena) disappear—they still emerge, they still exist. Then contemplate whether they are caused by fabrication or not. Or, whether they are caused by the power of our mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom. The mindfulness, concentration, and wisdom that contemplate the physical and mental phenomena that keep on changing. Certain natural conditions are conditions that we have never experienced. The question is whether we could fabricate things that we have never observed, never seen—for them to emerge accordingly. This is something to analyze.
The important thing is: In addition to analyzing whether there is fabrication, we should wilfully contemplate the Trilaksana—that is the emergence-existence-cessation. This is because when we experience cessation, the attachments will disappear. Whenever we contemplate the emergence-existence-cessation, our attachments that are dependent on these phenomena will also be severed.
Therefore, for the natural conditions that emerge, we should contemplate clearly; contemplate with awareness; have the intention to contemplate clearly—not just glossing over. The more unsure we are, the more we need
