concentration the same, or more stable and more peaceful than before? What are we contemplating? This is about Bala 5 (The Five Powers), Indsiya 5 (The Five Controlling Faculties). The mindfulness that is becoming more powerful is the bala—the power of mindfulness. If the concentration is becoming more powerful, then the concentration is the bala. Bala is simply power. Concentration becomes more powerful, mindfulness becomes more powerful. Therefore, to adjust the balance, to increase the power of mindfulness, concentration, wisdom, hence, natural conditions emerge in such a way.
Now, observe this way. If our mindfulness is weak and lacks strength, the natural conditions that used to emerge clearly in front of us—how do they change? They begin to fade, begin to dim, begin to dull, or how? This is the causes and the results that emerge. The conditions of the Ultimate Reality (sabhava-paramattha) are not fabricated by greed (lobha), anger (dosa), or delusion (moha)—but, result from the physical and mental phenomena that emerge in front of us, results from causes and conditions. How come the conditions of the Ultimate Reality (sabhava-paramattha) are natural conditions that are not fabricated by re nements?
The natural conditions that change, that emerge and cease in front of us—they are not fabricated by de lements. This is because physical and mental phenomena—by nature—change, emerge and cease all the time.
