from the sunshine or the heat from the outside will not be able to impact our mind. We only feel the heat surrounding our physical bodies. How come the heat cannot impact our mind? Because, the mind is unburdened, free from self. And, the heat that exists around our physical bodies, can we use it as a subject of our meditation? The heat—whether on the outside or inside—is a phenomenon of a natural element. Hence, it cannot defy the trilaksana. Everything— whether here or anywhere in the world—will always obey the trilaksana.
Therefore, have the mindfulness to contemplate the emergence-existence-cessation of that particular natural condition, of that particular natural element—in order to experience the reality. Why do we need to contemplate the reality? Why do we need to contemplate to such re ned levels? This is in order to achieve what we desire! To detach, to loosen, to experience the Ultimate Truth. Once we have detached because we have experienced the Ultimate Truth, we will not go back to attachment. But, if we detach without experiencing the truth of natural conditions, then we will re-attach again! We detach but do not let go, waiting for the time to go back to attachment.
But, whenever we experience the Ultimate Truth that really emerges; that there is no us, there is no them. And, that there is always emergence-existence-cessation. The mind will automatically relinquish attachments.
