Page 53 - Extinguishment of self, in search of dhamma
P. 53
If we observe, we will see that the mind that experiences does not fabricate anything. There is only a serene mind that contemplates emergence-existence- cessation, emergence-existence-cessation. This experiencer does not fabricate, the experiencer experiences that it is clear, it is happy, it is peaceful, it is bright... this experiencer does not fabricate. This mind is really equanimous—it experiences without fabricating (Translator’s note: The mind) to be clear, to be light. The mind has the duty to experience lightness, happiness, then it ceases. This is really an equanimous mind—experiences for an instance, then ceases.
Therefore, observe well. Every second is for the practice of dhamma, for our journey towards nibbana. Every second that we contemplate the emergence-cessation of the physical and mental phenomena, is the journey towards the mind’s liberation. Therefore, whatever natural condition emerges, have the intention to contemplate the emergence-existence-cessation of that natural condition. Then, contemplate the results that follow—that is, how does the state of the mind that contemplates clearly the emergence-cessation of the physical and mental phenomena changes.
