The Super Slime business successfully made the most money at the second grade marketplace, followed by Perfect Paper Products then jewelry and sports.
As a part of project-based learning curriculum, Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) teachers Lisa Hess’ and Wenda Wilson’s second grade students became entrepreneurs for a day, incorporating economic terms and ideas into a marketplace of student-run businesses developed and produced collaboratively with their business group.
Fellow first graders learned financial literacy through earning money to spend at the marketplace while second graders gained experience in business planning, justifying business success, product production and sales.
TTE first graders shop slime, jewelry and paper products with marketplace money earned in class.
Kindergarten registration for the 2022-2023 school year is as follows:
Buffalo Ridge Elementary will begin accepting kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year on Wednesday, December 1. Registration information and documents are available at www.buffaloridgek5.org. Additional questions may be directed to the main office at 303-387-5575.
Timber Trail Elementary will begin accepting kindergarten registration for the 2022-23 school year on Wednesday, December 1. Registration information and documents are available at https://tte.dcsdk12.org/.
American Academy enrollment lottery will take place Monday, December 6. Families can enroll students until 11:59 p.m. December 5 to be included in the lottery. An in-person presentation at the Castle Pines campus will take place Wednesday, December 1 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Detailed enrollment information can be found at www.aak8.org.
DCS Montessori participates in the district open enrollment program. Second-round open enrollment for kindergarten through eighth grade will open on January 24, 2022, and close on August 2, 2022. Detailed enrollment information can be found under the “Apply” tab at the top of www.dcsmontessori.org.
