BIN BLESSED – binblessed.com
Bright green bins began popping up on porches in the Village more than five years ago when a grass roots movement began making its way throughout the community. Its mission – to serve critically ill children and their families in Colorado. Their mission statement is: I can’t do everything; but still I can do something.
They call themselves “Bin Babes,” and they would love to have new members. For additional information, contactr Cy DeBoer at cydeboer@gmail.com. All donations go directly to the nonprofit There With Care (therewithcare.org).
WELLSPRING COMMUNITY – wearewellspring.org
For parents of children with special needs, planning for the future can be daunting. Mary Lou Fenton, a longtime resident in The Village at Castle Pines, formed
the nonprofit Wellspring Community in 2008 to create a work and residential community for adults with special needs, including her daughter, Emily.
Wellspring offers the chance to experience an abundant life by acknowledging and accepting limitations and investing the time, effort and resources to engage its STARS (Specially Talented Adults Raising Standards) cognitively, physically, socially and spiritually. The result is an innovative program that promotes independence and fosters personal growth and satisfaction.
Wellspring has an amazing network of volunteers who help to make its programs possible. More than 130 volunteers donate their time and talents to advance the Wellspring mission. Whether you’re interested in teaching classes, baking, helping in the coffee shop, studio or garden, or just hanging out with the STARS during lunch, there is a place for you to volunteer at Wellspring.
