The Village lake is a beautiful and fun recreational amenity for residents. Some enjoy the lake from the walking path, while others get up close to the lake and want to fish. If you enjoy fishing at the Village lake, please observe the following rules, and fish in a responsible manner so as to not endanger the other wildlife that makes the lake their home:
• Do not leave any unused fishing line, hooks or lures at the lake.
• Children should be supervised by an adult when fishing in the lake.
• The lake is a catch and release area, so please return your catch to the lake
as quickly as possible.
• Use barbless hooks.
• Do not disturb the wildlife. Wildlife-proof trash receptacles are located
around the lake for the disposal of fishing lines and hooks.
PLAYGROUNDS & PLAYING FIELDS
Spend time at one of the three beautiful pocket parks that are nestled throughout
the community. When it is time for some good old-fashioned competition, our neighbors head over to the large playing fields. These large fields are the perfect place for people to meet for a game of kickball, soccer or flag football. Families can also reserve a field for their child’s organized sports team through the Castle Pines Homes Association. See enclosed map on pages 15-16 for park locations.
TRAILS AND OPEN SPACES
With more than 13 miles of trails right outside your front door, it is easy to get out and enjoy the spectacular panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains while running, walking, or hiking through our community. In addition to normal pedestrian traffic, bicycles are permitted on the Village trails. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Horses and motorized vehicles or scooters are not permitted on any of the trails.
