Room to Breathe
Staff Spotlight:
Kim Kaye, Custodian
The Kaye family (Greg, Kim, and son Garrett) moved to Billings in 2012 searching for something more than life in California had provided. "When you take a drive in California," Kim shares, "all you see are buildings and roads and people...but in Montana there is room to breathe."
"Montana is home. It just feels right to be here."
Greg and Kim both went on to advanced studies in chiropractic, and Kim completed her Doctor of Chiropractic from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2005. The two married in 2006 and Greg started practicing as a Chiropractor, while Kim chose to forgo public practice to become a stay-at-home mother to Garrett instead! It was important to the Kayes that they could raise their son in a place with plenty of room to breathe, so the Kayes relocated from California to Billings, Montana. The Kaye family joined KOG in 2014.
As Garrett has grown, Kim has really enjoyed being a part of the Scout organization (including Troop 27, chartered by KOG) in various roles. "With the Scouts I've done stuff I probably never would have done!" including hiking The Beaten Path, a 26-mile trek full of nature and fresh air.
Ironically it was in Montana where Kim took her very first breaths. Her childhood was spent in Baker, MT, and Williston, ND, but while in high school her family made the move to California looking for work. After high school Kim met Greg in Judo class and later began dating. Their relationship spanned many years and several degrees! Kim chose to study Coaching and Kinesiology since she was most interested in cross country and track, and graduated from San Francisco State University in 1998.
Greg and Kim served as voting members from KOG to the Montana Synod Assembly in Great Falls in 2017.
