Boulder City is the only municipality in the State of Nevada to prohibit gaming within its borders.
Land Area
Boulder City has 208 square miles of land. It is the 10th largest city in the State of Nevada and the 5th largest in Clark County by land area. Boulder City also has 17 parks totaling 111 acres and 87 miles of streets.

Water
Boulder City owns its own water distribution facility with rates considerably lower than other municipalities in Southern Nevada.
Power
Boulder City owns its own electrical utility with rates substantially lower than anywhere else in Southern Nevada. This fact is primarily due to a longstanding agreement to buy power from Hoover Dam.

Nevada tax laws are among the most advantageous in the U.S. There are no corporate income, personal income, inheritance, franchise, intangibles, capital stock, chain store receipts, inheritance, gift, goods in transit, inventories or bank shares taxes. Nevada’s Freeport law exempts all materials and goods stored for later shipment. The City’s property tax rate is the lowest in the Valley at $2.5264 per $100 of assessed value. This compares to Henderson at $2.90, Las Vegas at $3.28 and North Las Vegas at $3.35.
