         during Freedom Fest, June 29-July 4



            The Austin Area Chamber and its members will host the
         33rd annual “celebration of community and country,” Freedom
         Fest, June 29-July 4.
            The calendar of events features two street dances, over 20
         hours of live music, Independence Day parade, free “rides and
         slides” for the kids, horse-drawn wagon rides, pony rides, arts
         and crafts, sporting events and contests, and, of course, two
         nights of fireworks.  The Austin Symphony Orchestra and Com-
         munity Band cap two days of live, musical entertainment on the
         Bandshell stage, July 3rd and 4th.
            Parade and exhibitor applications as well as registration
         forms for sporting events remain available at the Chamber office
         and online at www.austincoc.com. Chamber members and spon-
         sors receive discounted rates for parade entries.
            The Freedom Fest committee selected longtime radio person-
         ality “Champagne” Duane Germain as this year’s parade Grand
         Marshal. Germain’s career at KAUS Radio spanned more than
         40 years and he has served as Master of Ceremonies for many
         community events, including Freedom Fest.
            The parade route will remain entirely along Main Street, this
         year,  heading south from 8th Avenue NW to Lafayette Park.
         Parade unit numbers will be sent to all entries, the week of June
         18.
            Fireworks Raffle tickets, featuring $2900 in prizes and $60
         in coupon savings, remain available at the Chamber and from
         Chamber Ambassadors and Board members.
            A complete list of all Freedom Fest events is included in this
         edition of The Outlook and is also posted on the Chamber’s web-
         site, www.austincoc.com.  A big “Thank You” to the over 150
         business and organizational sponsors for making this event pos-
         sible. We hope to see you all in Austin during Freedom Fest!
            Festival committee members include Jeff Baldus, Brad John-
         son, Terry Fox, Tim Duren, Brittney Heimermann, Julie Kerling,
         Lizzie Gunter, Amanda Lagervall, Bridget Cohenour, Bill Budi-  MUSIC & DANCE will be featured on stage at Bandshell
         on, Doug Nuckolls, Mark Bliese, Justin Bickler, Lee Bjorndal,   Community Park, July 3-4.
