The rst graduates of the Bachelor of Business in Supply Chain Management IT Carlow, conferring ceremony 3 November 2017
The Department of Built Environment and Extended Campus at Institute of Technology Carlow aims to provide opportunities for adults of all ages and experience to learn new skills or to upgrade existing skills and abilities.
The Institute of Technology Carlow understands that while part-time learners share many of the same challenges that face all higher education students, additional family and career matters can also apply. That is why the academic programmes offered are designed to provide maximum choice and flexibility to learners. While the majority of the Institute’s learner population choose to take a full 60-credit programme stage in a single academic year, others decide to pursue one or two programme modules, gradually building up the credits necessary to obtain a major award at Degree, Honours Degree, Higher Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and /or Master’s Degree level.
In addition to a range of off-the-shelf programmes the Extended Campus office provides collaboration opportunities through the development of tailored courses to meet an organisation’s needs. The collaboration with CILT has resulted in the validation of a Bachelor of Business in Supply Chain Management programme at level 7 through a combination of the CILT Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme together with completion of a Recognition of Prior Learning portfolio by each applicant in which the applicant outlines their work experience in this sector. This programme is delivered in Dublin City. The first graduates of the Bachelor of Business in Supply Chain Management were conferred in IT Carlow on Friday 3rd November 2017.
