 gRADUATION 2015

  The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) 14th Diploma Graduation Ceremony took place on the 21st November 2015 at the Smurfit Graduate Business School, UCD. It was the largest graduation for the Institute to date. A total of seventy three graduates were awarded their Diploma qualifications and Chartered Membership of the Institute.
The ceremony honoured the graduates for their achievements. To celebrate their success the graduates were joined by their proud families and friends, many of whom had travelled long journeys to be with their loved ones. As part of the ceremony, gold medals were awarded to graduates who had achieved first place in their respective years.
The Institute would like to thank Professor Brian Fynes FCILT for being our guest speaker and to him and his Colleagues at the Smurfit Business School for making such a wonderful facility available to the Institute for the Graduation ceremony.
In attendance was Paddy Doherty FCILT, President of the Institute in Ireland, Kevin Byrne FCILT, Vice President Elect of CILT International, Professor Brian Fynes FCILT guest speaker, Janet Kavanagh CMILT Chair of Education Committee, Tim Hayes FCILT, CEO, Pat Mullen FCILT, Logicert and Course Director, Pat Treacy FCILT Deputy CEO, Patrick Casey FCILT, Council Secretary and Pat Mangan, FCILT, Council member.
A thank you for arranging and managing the event goes to Institute staff, Julia Olan, Pauline Lacey, Imelda Browne and Ruth Lanigan. Particular thanks goes to Jim Kearney, FCILT, Education and Training Manager, who lead the team and for his many years of involvement with graduation ceremonies.
The ceremony was opened by Pat Treacy FCILT who acted as master of ceremonies. Janet Kavanagh CMILT, Chair of Education Committee then welcomed the graduates. She outlined, as a past graduate of the programme, how she continued her involvement with the Institute. Pat Mullen FCILT, Course Director, thanked all for attending, congratulated the graduates and spoke about goal setting, positive thinking and confidence. He advised that he had decided to retire after many years of teaching and accordingly it would be his last time speaking at a Graduation Ceremony. The Graduates then rose to applaud Pat and all present wished him the very best in his retirement.
