The Ādam Paradox Hypothesis 219
Closing Reflection
Gradualism is powerful in explaining anatomy and technology. But as a model
of cognition, it fails three critical tests:
1.Shape: It predicts slopes, but the evidence shows steps.
2.Falsifiability: It bends to fit all outcomes, weakening its scientific strength.
3.Synchrony: It cannot explain the improbable overlap of symbols, genes,
and demographics.
APH accepts gradual preparation — slow shaping of the body, steady
refinement of tools — but insists that only a threshold ignition explains the
human paradox. After long silence, a sudden symphony.
Not a denial of Darwin’s slope, but the moment a river overflowed its banks
and changed the landscape forever.
