CHALLENGE COURSE
Welcome to our high adventure learning laboratory! Prairie Woods’ challenge course includes:
• A 40 foot tall three-sided outdoor climbing tower
• Two Giant Ladders
• Two Flying Squirrels
• An indoor climbing wall • Initiative games
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
Environmental programs combine guided exploration, classroom activities, outdoor recreation and community-building to provide the best possible learning experience. Programs are presented in ways kids learn best: with engaging, interdisciplinary activities, in small groups.
GARY WESTBY SHOOTING RANGE
The Gary Westby Educational Shooting Sports range offers opportunities for sportsmen, sportswomen and youth. The Range consists of a ve-stand sporting clays range and a ten-bench .22 smallbore ri e range.
TRAILS
Prairie Woods maintains approximately 10km of trails over rolling glacial terrain, through woods and prairies,
WINTER TRAILHEAD HOURS
Sat–9:00am to 5:00pm Sun–12:00pm to 5:00pm Mon-Fri–8:30am to 4:00pm Trailhead hours are weather dependent. Please call ahead to con rm staff will be on site.
CROSS COUNTRY SKI / SNOWSHOE / KICKSLED RENTALS
Day rate: $5 for members; $15 for nonmembers; $5 for students (pre-K through college)
Full Weekend: $10 for members; $30 for nonmembers.
Damage deposit for off-site use: $50, fully refundable with equipment return. (Kicksleds not available for offsite use.)
Other groomed trails within 10-15 minutes of Prairie Woods include Sibley State Park to the north and Robbins Island and Swan Lake Trails to the south in Willmar. Trail Maps are available at Prairie Woods.
