          CHALLENGES AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1. The department was unable to replicate this programme given that there is limited human and financial resources to sustain and manage a programme of this scale
2. Additional support for the learners who have pursued tertiary studies in the biodiversity field is being sustained through an existing partnership between the eThekwini Municipality and the University of KwaZulu-Natal in order to
address the limited human resources in EPCPD.
3. In addition, the Department is investigating whether there are opportunities for future internship programmes which could be offered to the learners with EPCPD.
