the work being carried out. Having an office in the community, rather than at the refinery, made us accessible to community members and this helped us in our responsibilities; we became a familiar sight with our hard hats and safety boots along the pipeline route.
“Communicating with stakeholders before work started, during the work and after the work was completed, ensured that everyone knew what to expect and when. We faced some challenges, including the need to relocate Dwarf chameleons near the Bluff Nature Reserve in Tara Road, but for the most part we were well received by affected communities. It was definitely a career highlight being part of the pipeline replacement team.”
