Dr Reshma Sucheran
Department of Hospitality and Tourism
Faculty of Management Sciences
Reshma Sucheran is a Senior Lecturer and Research Chair in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism.
She obtained her PhD in Geography and Environmental Science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2012. Her teaching and research focus is on environmental management, climate change, disaster management and education and training, in the global tourism industry. She supervises postgraduate research and serves as an external examiner for several universities in South Africa. She is the project leader for many independent research projects and is engaged in various international collaborative research projects. She has published research papers in accredited journals and has
presented at international conferences. She serves as an advisory member at international conference organizations and is a reviewer for the Tourism Review International Journal and the African Journal of Hospitality and Tourism. She was awarded the Women in Research and Innovation Program Grant from DUT. She received a scholarship to attend a program on Research Methodology at the University of Michigan. She was also awarded the Honorary Fellow at Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Golden Key International Honour Society Award.
