Barn Swallows at Mount Moreland
From November to March, every day at sunset, hundreds of thousands of tiny Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) gather over the reedbeds at the Lake Victoria wetland, before diving down to roost for the night.
Witness this spectacular event at the Mount Moreland Lake Victoria viewing site. Bring a picnic and sundowners and enjoy the expansive views and tranquil surroundings while you wait for the birds to arrive.
The viewing site at Mount Moreland is open to visitors from 5pm - 7pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, in season, November to March.
