Varnee speaks of her clothing brand, Ghecko and Ghecko Kids, with passion: “Furthermore, to have been able to provide colourful and quality clothes to children for the last 20 years! The children have grown up and speak to me about my designs even after so many years. Some send me photos of them wearing my creations.”
Varnee’s commitment to knowledge-sharing and innovation has earned her notable accolades, including the Tamil Chamber of Commerce and Professionals Mauritius Award for her contribution throughout the years for sharing skills and knowledge within the industry and for her contribution to empowering other entrepreneurs in the innovation field. Recently, Varnee was awarded as the Gold Awardee and the Grand Winner for National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award 2024. Both awards highlight her dedication to mentoring others and fostering productivity within the industry.
Varnee says, “I am incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the support of our amazing team and partners.Thank you all for believing in us and being part of this adventure.”
Varnee emphasises the importance of turning ideas into actionable plans. “It is not only about getting ideas, speaking about them nor writing ideas. It is most importantly about defining an action plan, knowing about finance/costing, making a calendar of work and how to create a connection with others to implement the project.”
Varnee strives to inspire and uplift others through her work and mentorship. Her journey from a young girl in Mauritius to a role model and industry leader is a testament to the transformative power of education, resilience, and connection.As she continues to design, mentor, and innovate, her story reminds us that true success lies not just in personal achievements but in the lives we touch along the way.
