Dear Alumni and Friends of the Durban University of Technology
I think many would agree that 2024 was a particularly challenging year. Notwithstanding these difficulties, we also had moments of excellence and good reason to smile, cheer and celebrate. We have somehow survived a tumultuous 2024 and we are looking forward to a brighter 2025.
The Durban University of Technology has experienced its own challenges but has risen above the difficulties and continues to work determinedly towards achieving ENVISON2030 strategic objectives. We continue to be resolute and committed to improving lives and livelihoods.
Our academic and research endeavours have reached new heights. We have seen our students, alumni and faculty receive numerous accolades and awards, showcasing their dedication and brilliance. Our commitment to community engagement has never been stronger.Through various outreach programmes, we have made significant strides in supporting and uplifting our local communities.These initiatives have not only enriched the lives of those we serve but have also provided our students with invaluable experiences that foster a sense of social responsibility and empathy. This year, we have also made substantial progress in enhancing our campus infrastructure.We look forward to the completion of new state-of-the-art facilities and the upgrading of existing ones which will create an environment that supports cutting-edge learning and research.
As we look to the future, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We are committed to continuing our journey of excellence, innovation, and community engagement. The upcoming year promises to be filled with new challenges and achievements and I am confident that, together, we will rise to
meet them.
In closing, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each member of the DUT community including our generous donors.Your hard work, passion, and dedication are what make our university a beacon of excellence. Let us continue to work together to build
