Milestones of Success:
From DUT Graduate to Healthcare Leader
“It’s such a blessing to walk into the office every day, working on one’s passion but, at the same time, fulfilling one’s purpose. Let’s take care of our bodies so we can continue to walk and work in our purpose AND passion!”
When Dr Caleb Nair left DUT at the end of 2021, little did he know what bright future he would craft for himself so soon after being awarded his Master of Technology, Chiropractic. Caleb opened his own practice, Less Pain More Living, within months of graduating. He is now the proud provider of healthcare to grateful patients at his three branches in three cities. Caleb was recently recognised Top 3 Youth-Owned Healthcare Brand in Africa 2024.This young entrepreneur’s journey is a testament to determination, resilience, and faith.
Caleb hails from scenic Bluff and is part of a close family. His father’s firm encouragement directed him towards his rewarding career in chiropractic care. Initially unfamiliar with the field, he pursued an MTech in Chiropractic at DUT largely driven by his father’s insistence. The competitive academic environment of DUT pushed him to excel and Caleb maintained an impressive A+ average. He fondly remembers the vibrant student culture, lecture venues, and exceptional labs of DUT which enriched his experience. Caleb has a strong sense of DUT being a community. “Many DUT alumni have given me advice, guided me and kept me grounded. The more I interact with influential personalities, most of the time, the commonality is DUT.DUT breeds success.”
Today, at just 27, he is the founder of Less Pain More Living, a thriving chiropractic business with three branches across South Africa. His day is founded firmly in early morning prayer and devotion before he starts his busy schedule.A typical day is filled with patient consultations, media engagements, workouts, and content creation. Treating patients every 30 minutes requires meticulous planning, yet his commitment to holistic care remains unwavering.
His career milestones are equally remarkable. He has been recognised as a Top 3 Youth-Owned Healthcare Brand in Africa
in 2024 and received the KZN Youth Entrepreneur Award. Caleb became the first Indian chiropractor to work with the Springboks and has treated numerous celebrities, advocating the benefits of chiropractic care. These achievements emphasise his dedication to making healthcare accessible and impactful.
“The ability to see my company grow financially and in location at a young age shows that anything is possible provided God, and authenticity, alongside focus is present.”
Caleb’s desire to help all South Africans to live pain-free is evident in the work of his Less Pain, More Living Foundation, which provides free chiropractic services to low-income communities. Looking to the future, Caleb envisions expanding his business to underserved areas, integrating chiropractic care into public healthcare, and opening clinics in townships and rural communities. His ambition reflects a broader mission to make quality healthcare affordable and accessible for all.
For today’s youth, his message is clear: authenticity and purpose are essential. “Understand and identify who you are. Never pretend or “fake” the personality to fit a certain career path or study path. The more authentic and real with who you are, the clearer the vision becomes,” he advises. His life philosophy is rooted in Proverbs 16:3:“Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.”
To relax, Caleb spends as much time as he can outdoors. He enjoys cycling, running, hiking, attending concerts and spending time with friends and family. He says,“this feeds my creative side and re-fuels my energy to continue working.”
In celebrating his milestones, this dynamic entrepreneur exemplifies that true success lies in balancing professional
