learning in in in KwaZulu-Natal remains sublime and and of the highest possible standard Given that that the the CAO has been in in business for close on on 24 years it it was natural that that the the Department of Higher Education and and Training sought a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a partnership agreement to to help and and and support its endeavours into establishing and and and setting up up a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a national application service (CAS) To this this end end the the CAO is is is is pleased to to to participate and and contribute to to this this significant national project project with the the the Department of Higher Education and Training Given that the the the project project is is in in in in in in in its infancy greater details will be forthcoming in in in in in in in fin the the following financial year An important element for our success is is is to be be financially sustainable This has been accomplished by a a a a a a a a a a a a a dedicated CEO and and the staff adhering to to good business principles and and practices The CAO has been able to to continuously maintain investments in in in in in in in in its its critical areas of its its business thus ensuring that it it it it it remains reasonably prepared for for unforeseen eventualities An equally pleasing observation is that the CAO has a a a a a a a a a very good mixture of staff with long service as as as as well as as as as when opportunities presents itself to to to introduce new blood into the organisation organisation The organisation organisation also ensures that it it it it continues to to to promote diversity in its workforce The Board continues to provide the necessary oversight meeting on on a a a a a a a a a quarterly basis inclusive of its various various sub-committees The Board meetings meetings and the various various sub-committee sub-committee meetings meetings are well attended In particular we we thank Mr Mike Naidoo who stepped down as Chairperson of the the Board after an an illustrious service to the CAO in that role The CAO remains an an an an important cog in in in in the higher education landscape in in in in in KwaZulu-Natal and and and will continue to flourish given the the importance of of having a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a highly skilled and and and educated nation The continuous growth of of applications to to the the the various higher education institutions by learners points to to a a a a a a a bright future for the the the CAO and the country The CAO has made an indelible mark on on the higher education landscape in in KwaZulu-Natal as evidenced by the growing number of learners applying to study at at the the higher education institutions in in in the the region
