resources. The delivery mode of the postgraduate (Honours, master’s and doctoral) programmes are on a part-time basis. Furthermore, the low average pass rate on doctoral studies can be due to the minimum duration (2-3) years of the studies and some of the reports for the 2019 academic year were still pending. The numbers would be much better for 2021.
The Faculty of Science and Agriculture reacted quickly to the shift to online teaching, learning and assessment in 2020. The Faculty had lecture materials provided for all modules
available via Moodle. Moodle usage was consistently high among staff and students and the percentage of usage by staff and students increased throughout the year. There was no significant difference between the pass rates of both semesters of the 2020 academic year. The Faculty also recorded increasing pass rates per level of study with the final-year modules averaging above 90%. Despite the many disruptions to the 2020 academic year, the faculty pass rate resembles that of previous academic years.
