        Stunning Natural Beauty
Durban is situated in an exquisite natural environment, and the warm, subtropical climate provides an ideal opportunity to explore nature. It has a variety of unique habitats, from dense coastal forest, to mangrove swamps and estuarine systems which are home to a wondrous variety of plant, animal and bird life.
The Umgeni River Bird Park is home to endangered, indigenous and exotic birds in a stunning natural environment on the banks of the uMngeni River. The park allows visitors to get up close and personal with many different birds in walk-through aviaries, open paddocks and a viewing window into the baby room where chicks are raised by foster parents.
